This application is designed to help prevent myopia or near-sightedness, especially in young people who use their Android phone or tablet for extended periods of time to read ebooks or play games.Myopia is more prevalent among those who look up-close and are indoors for extended periods of time and is less prevalent among those who look far away and are outdoors.
To help combat myopia, many eye doctors advocate the 20/20/20 rule. For every 20 minutes of looking at something up-close, spend 20 seconds looking at something, preferably outside, at least 20 feet away.
This application (and widget) enable a service that reminds you to look up for 20 seconds, every 20 minutes.
The application is straightforward, just press the "Start Timer" button to start. If you want to stop the timer or quit the app, press the "Stop App" button. The widget works similarly. When the eyes are open, the timer is on. When the eyes are closed, the timer is off.
