Hast du schon erfahrungen mit updates vom A500 auf dem Liberty Tab gesammelt?

Hab das Teil seit Montag. Hast du nen guten Tip welches rom gut ist. Wollte es eigentlich nicht rooten aber die pachard bell Oberfläche gefällt mir nicht so gut. Okt dafür läuft es bestimmt Bug frei

Hi Leute! Ich hab das Iconia seit einer Woche und habe zum Thema Root schon einiges gefunden. Das rooten ist beim Iconia ja ein Kinderspiel und die Tools dafür(IconiaRoot 1.3 und Acer Recovery Installer für CWM 1.3.4) gibts ja direkt im Market, deshalb gehe ich darauf auch nicht weiter ein. Aber eine Liste mit den bisher verfügbaren Custom-ROM's, die ich in dn letzten Tagen zusammengestellt habe, wollte ich Euch nicht vorenthalten.

[Anleitung] Virtuous Picasso v.1.1.0 flashen (aktuell v.1.1.2)

-Iconia Tab A500 per 1-Klick-Tool rooten(Iconia Root&GBIconia Tab)

-Rom downloaden, nicht entpacken und die update.zip auf die mSD-Karte schieben( keinen Extra-Ordner anlegen,sondern auf der ersten Datei-Ebene).Geht am einfachsten am PC!

-#ClockworkMod-Recovery mit der App Acer Recovery Installer(aus'm Market) installieren.

-Herunterfahren und die mSD-Karte einlegen.

-Mit Power und Lautstärke-(minus) Tasten gleichzeitig gedrückt im Recovery-Modus starten,
(ist die Karte mit der Update.zip schon eingelegt,kann man wahlweise auch aus der Acer Recovery Installer App heraus in den Recovery-Modus
neustarten und spart sich die Fingerübung)

-Im Recovery-Modus sollte zuerst ein komplettes Backup erstellt werden, falls man das originale Acer Honeycomb 3.1-Rom mal braucht
(z.B. im Garantie-Fall).

-Anschließend folgt ein Full Wipe/Factory Reset...

-...danach wird mit "wipe.cache" auch der "Cache-Speicher" gelöscht,...

-...um im Menu-Ordner "Advanced" noch die "dalvik-cache"-Dateien zu löschen.

-So! Jetzt anschließend über "go back" eine Menu-Ebene zurück in das vorherige Menu!

-Es ist soweit,alle Vorbereitungen sind getroffen!! Es kann losgehen!!!

-Jetzt wird die Virtuous Picasso ROM geflasht, indem über "install ZIP Form SD-Card" die entsprechenden Menu-Optionen gewählt werden und man
den Anweisungen folgt.

-Nun dauert es ein paar Minuten, bis das neue Rom installiert ist. Sobald der Vorgang abgeschlossen ist, wechselt die Anzeige zurück in den
Recovery-Modus und die letzte Zeile informiert über den Erfolg der Aktion.

-Nun nur noch "reboot now" auswählen,damit das Iconia Tab zum ersten mal mit der neuen ROM startet.

Beim ersten Start benötigt der Boot-Vorgang etwas länger und die Boot-Animation wiederholt sich mehrfach, aber dann startet das Tablet zum ersten mal mit Virtuous Picasso. Die Version 1.1.0 basiert auf der Asus Transformer 3.2 ROM, wurde aber in vielen Punkten verbessert.
So bietet es einen etwas höheren CPU-Takt von 2x1,2 GHz und die Möglichkeit mittels "Set CPU"App bis max.1,6GHz zu übertakten. Das Dateisystem wurde ebenfalls verbessert, so dass das Tablet noch bessere Reaktionszeiten aufweist. Viele der vorinstallierten Apps sind auch in Virtuous Picasso enthalten. Es fehlen jedoch möglicherweise einige der Spiele. Ausserdem gibt es vom Entwickler regelmäßige Updates,denn aktuell sind wir schon bei Version 1.1.2 und es kommen regelmäßig weitere.
Auch aus anderen Quellen kommen beinahe wöchenlich neue ROM`s zum testen und vergleichen,z.B. aus der "Villian-Ecke" und von "CyanogenMod". Auch der ROM-Manager sollte problemlos laufen, so dass man bequem die verschiedenen ROM`s verwalten kann.
Das war`s schon, bei den Honeycomb Tablets geht das flashen ja ziemlich einfach.

Reboot to recovery and make a backup. After that you can wipe data and flash the rom.

You can disable mobile data in /system/build.prop (uncomment ro.carrier=wifi-only)

HI, I made some little modification to Dexter's new PRIMEE-P9 ROM included his latest patch 5a. So all credits to him for this great ROM.

Features: all the new 3.2 features included Based on asus 8.6.5.6 2.6.36.4 kernel with CIFS/NFS/3G support, optional OC upto 1700Mhz Enhanced exchange support Faster Browser resizable widgets multilanguage (All major languages for europe also included) enhanced task manager filesystem tweaks enhanced network driver (tethering enabled for Bluetooth / wifi / usb) root + superuser included DLNA support 3G huawei USB dongle support Storage locations: /mnt/sdcard , /Removable/MicroSD , /Removable/Usbstick1 , /Removable/Usbstick2

Changes: Removed : Acer Sync, Asus Reader, Google Books, Layar, MyCloud, MyGazine, PC Sync, Google Videos, Zinio Reader.

Originally i ported PRIMEv1.4 by Roach2010, an honeycomb 3.1 rom from Asus to Iconia A500..Its now a more Acer specific rom based on acer drivers and software but with 3.1 features. We are still waiting for the kernel source, so limits of a stock kernel apply, which is one, using the new feature PS3 controller joypad's. Until source is out, these functions are missing.

BRIEF HOWTO

1. Download AcerRecoveryInstaller from Market or from apps section of A500 here. or use the old solution from this post . 2. Boot into ClockWorkRecovery (POWER ON + VOL-) and do a full backup. 3. put PRIMEE v1.4 zip on your sdcard and install using ClockWorkRecovery 4. NEW USERS - do a factory reset (WIPE) in ClockWorkMod when installing for the first time.

Disabling Phone+TelephonyProvider can cause unstable OS, settings crash, tablet freeze etc.. Removing apps from system folder can cause bootloop's

You do all this and you take the risk. But remember if you got the CWM working, you should be safe and you can run itsmagic from CWM if you are in doubt. I take no responsibilites if you damage or brick your device. But if you do think its bricked, and you get checksum errors both at boot and recovery, sc2k might be able to help if you saved your UID number.

Another ROM you say? I've tried all the Acer-based 3.1 custom ROMs and none of them seem to suit my needs. They seem to add lots more bloatware and tweaks that made my tablet quite unstable.

So I went ahead and built my own ROM which essentially is a pruned-stock standard Acer 3.1 with only the barest minimal features to maintain speed and stability of the system. I've also gone ahead and deodexed most all of the frameworks and apps so feel free to mod this rom to add custom skins and animations if you so please. I'm sharing my work in the hope that you will find it useful.
