Super!
Guys (and girls), have you heard about the Heizenberg principle of uncertainty I think we have hit its effects with our 'battery drain' problems. To cut the long story short about this principle - basically it says that the act of measuring changes the measured object (value). Using all kind of battery monitors, CPU spys, battery stats .. etc. ... they actually make the phone wakeup to perform and log the measurement. When it wakes up - it will use some CPU and some current. Then it will not go immediately back into sleep.
By removing all monitoring apps, I have achieved 15% drop in 24h. This is including occasional WiFi to check e-mails, 5-9 calls per day ( no longer than 5 min each - I am not fancy talking much ) and listening to audio books for about 2h a day. With this rate I have estimated that I can go without recharge 6 days! Let say I will have some days more active than others - so if I can get to 4 days - it will be amazing!
I am using Rocket ROM v6, with its original Kernel. I am using Go Launcher Ex, which in the Application drawer shows the currently running apps. Once in a while (probably once or twice a day) I kill them all. Just to get rid of anything that might be running unnecessarily. Some of them start almost instantly afterwards - but that's fine.
So - happy bunny! I suggest we stop nagging our respected ROM developers about battery .. we just need to be more sensible in using the juice.
