Akimbo player is the most comprehensive audio book player in the market. Notable features:

The player is highly recommended not just for audiobooks, but for any episodic format, such as music albums or podcasts.
A note on permissions:
• Internet access is only done at your express request to download covers (it is never launched without a user pressing the download cover button). No personal information is ever sent outside your phone.
• Access to your phone’s state is required to pause the player when a call comes in. No other use of this permission is made.
• Writing to the external storage is required if you choose to save the app’s data (library, images, etc.) on the SD card, instead of the device’s internal storage. No other use of this permission is made.
• Battery status and wake lock permissions are used to prevent locking the device (when configured by the user) when playing or when playing while connected to a power source.

Kapitelunterstützung bei m4b, aber hässlich Von den Funktionen her top - gerade die Kapitelunterstützung bei dem m4b - Format ist goldwert. Den einen Stern Abzug bekommt die App, da sie einfach hässlich ist.. Vielleicht sollten die Entwickler das Design nach den neuen Richtlinien überarbeiten. Trotzdem ist der Player uneingeschränkt empfehlenswert - Aussehen ist eben nicht alles.

Guter Hörbuchplayer mit vielen Funktionen! Eine sehr nützliche App, um Hörbücher zu hören, meine Standard-App hierfür, sie hat den MortPlayer abgelöst. Unterstützt viele Funktionen für Kopfhörertasten und kann hervorragend in Verbindung mit "Headset Button Controller" und einem Eintastenkopfhörer verwendet werden. MP3 können bei gleichem Titel in der Library als ein Eintrag zusammengefasst werden. Sortierung auch nach Datei/Pfadnamen möglich. Bookmarkfunktionalität und Library sind zwar etwas funktionsarm aber Akimbo hat insgesamt sehr viele Sonderfunktionen (u.a. Sprachsteuerung, Headsetbuttonkontrolle) und ist damit wohl der mächtigste Player mit Hörbuchschwerpunkt. Der Support antwortet meistens sehr schnell und repariert Fehler in Windeseile, woran sich so einige andere BugAppEntwickler eine Scheibe abschneiden könnten. Eine Alternative zum Akimbo ist der kostenlose MortPlayer Audio Books, der allerdings derzeit nicht weiterentwickelt wird und keinen Support bietet (antwortet einfach nicht). Bugs (z.B. Headset-Button-Reaktionen) werden dort leider auch nicht repariert, weshalb ich schließlich zu Akimbo gewechselt habe. Auf SGS2 am 2012-03-31

Vielseitig Erkennt Nero- und Quicktimekapitel. Der Dialog zum Springen zu einem Kapitel/Zeitpunkt sollte aufgeteilt werden, er ist zu klein.

Funktioniert wunderbar, erkennt und nutzt Bookmarks in m4b files. Saubere Oberfläche.

Archos Problem Das Abspielen der längeren M4B Hörbücher scheint ein Problem mit dem AvosPlayer von Archos zu sein. Sehr guter Kontakt, schnelle qualifizierte Antworten.
