Gestern hat Google auf der Developer Conference unter anderem Android 3.1, das nächste größere Android „Honeycomb“ Update angekündigt. Dieses soll beispielsweise USB Support für Gamepads, Mäuse und Tastaturen auf alle Android Tablets bringen. Außerdem wird es auf jedem Tablet, auf dem Android 3.1 läuft möglich sein, Bluetooth-Mäuse zu nutzen.
Logitech scheint die gestrige Google I/O Keynote auch aufmerksam verfolgt zu haben und hat heute gleich ein Statement im hauseigenen Blog veröffentlicht.
So zeigen laut Logitech kürzliche Analysen, dass User ihre Tablets vor allem zum Spielen nutzen, außerdem um Informationen zu suchen und zum Mailen. Für all das will Logitech speziell auf Android 3.1 ausgerichtetes Zubehör, also entsprechende Controller, Keyboards und Mäuse anbieten.
Recent research shows that people use their tablets mainly to play games, search for information, and emailing. Android 3.1’s new functionality will make it easier for you to navigate and enjoy all of what your tablet offers: you can use a gamepad while you’re playing a game, or a keyboard to write your e-mails – the choice is yours. The capabilities will be available to everyone using an Android tablet running the Honeycomb 3.1 platform.
Auch wenn unter Android 3.1 zukünftig beliebige USB-Geräte problemlos funktionieren sollen, kann ich mir vorstellen, dass Logitech sich das ein oder andere interessante einfallen lassen wird, was dann mit einem Android 3.1 Tablet sehr gut harmoniert.
