Erst einmal sind das ja gute Neuigkeiten: Das Motorola Xoom bekommt ein Update, dass die bald kommende Flash Unterstützung vorbereiten soll. Das lässt zumindest darauf schließen, dass das „echte“ Flash Update in nicht allzu weiter Ferne liegt. Allerdings ist die Installation des vorbereitenden Updates für diejenigen, die ihr Xoom gerootet/unlocked haben, nicht ohne Weiteres möglich.
We are happy to announce that an over-the-air update to the Motorola XOOMsoftware will start rolling out in phases tonight to all Motroola XOOM owners on the Verizon Wireless network.
You can receive the update over a 3G or a WiFi connection. If you are not connected via WiFi or 3G, or your Motorola XOOM is off when the notification arrives, you will see the notification when you next connect to a wireless network.
If you have unlocked/rooted your Motorola XOOM, you must restore it to the standard software load and relock your device to receive the notification. Owners who have unlocked/rooted can find more information here in the Motorola Xoomunlock / non-standard area of Motorola Owners’ Forums.

Ob das so etwas wie „Schikane“ von Seitens Motorola ist, oder aber einfach ein Problem technischer Natur, lässt sich nicht sagen.

Diese News hat jemand geschrieben, der keine Ahnung hat. OTA-Updates funktionieren auf gerooteten Androiden generell nichbt (richtig). Motorola ist hier alsp nur besonders fair und informiert richtig.

etwas of topic aber muss es mal loswerden. das AndroidPit appcenter ist aktuell bei computerbild.de eine App der Woche.
Das sie überhaupt darauf Hinweisen finde ich schon mehr als ok.
Motorola macht zwar gute Geräte, was Updates angeht, sind sie jedoch ein Negativbeispiel (...). Ich sitimme Tom Gierlich zu. (siehe oben)
Es heißt doch auch so:
Root = Keine OTA Updates
= Wenn doch = Probleme
Das gilt bei allen Android Geräten.
Ich denke es ist auch nur ein Technisches Problem
ihr habt doch schon Verfolgungswahn was Motorola angeht......
